Description
The Tree is grown by a fractal process involving multiple randomizations in each step. The trunk and branch taper with respect to their length is taken from the often cited publication by Thomas A. McMahon and Richard E. Kronauer. Tree structures: Deducing the principle of mechanical
design, 1976. Also the famous paper by D. W. Ormerod. A simple bole model, 1973 was used in modelling most natural trunk shape characteristics.
The tree comes with full developed root main strands. The focus of the growth process was on realistic looking transition region from trunk to root strands to ground. The new model growth process enables the root strands to adapt to the ground surface structure while searching their randomized path into the ground soil. In case of this tree, a simple flat plane was used as ground.
