Realistic Human Ear. Created with 3ds max in 2007. Modelled using correctly sculpted edge loop topology quads, and easy to sculpt onto a medium to high detail head mesh. Base mesh is 678 faces. MeshSmooth Iterations 1 = 2712 Faces.
Ears come in all shapes and sizes, but this is one of the best and most recognisable reference ear models you will find anywhere on the net. It has neat and tidy geometry and can be manipulated to match any ear shape very easily, and uses correctly formed edge loops. There are a lot of ear models for sale but a lot of them are looking like they have been hit with a baseball bat a few times, with messy topology that will be hard to manipulate into other forms, and some of them are a lot more expensive!
You can see from the wire-layered isoline previews that perfect edge loop topology has been used all the way through. There is no difference between the edge formations when switching from the base mesh to mesh/turbo-smooth isoline display, and no triangles forming.
